With the dominance once again displayed by Camden County this year, and snapon’s comments about Cobb Co., I started thinking about what County could field the best dual team in the state. Over the past several years the knee jerk answer is Gwinnett County. However, with the departure of the Bullards et al, does the door open up for Forsyth or Hall or Camden or Jackson to take the claim? We all know what a Camden team looks like, but what about a Gwinnett, Forsyth, Jackson or Hall team?

Humpty says… “Do whatcha like”. What would the lineup for foco look like? And would it be enough to overcome Gwinnett, Camden, or Jackson? With commerce, Jackson co, and Jefferson combined, could they take best county claim?

Legg didn’t wrestle Mingus at Panther. Mingus placed fourth and Legg beat the Sr from Clarke Central in finals. Also Forrester was at 170 and Legg at 182. You have to factor in Burns (Commerce) at 195 with Allen at 220 and thats a close dual right there.

tdlegg This was my opinion of what the best line up would be if Jackson County put together a team Jefferson and Commerce would fill the line up and compete with any other county in the state. I know there are some kids not in the weight classes they have wrestled in all year or maybe at State. If Patrick or Hurd could make the cut to 152LBS, then that would be even Stronger. If Allen is at 220LBS then insert whoever at 195LBS. It was meant to be hypothetical as this would probably never happen in the real world. Just Forum World. Feel free to make a Line up or add to mine if you wish.

I completely understand the post Strong Cameldad but you have called us out a couple times now and stated Jefferson would beat Commerce by 20. No matter how you break it down, I say its a 6 point match one way or the other.

Yeah I stand by that statement. But back to the list it’s split 7 Jefferson 7 Commerce. Why would you argue with that?

I think we can all agree that it’s a shame we can’t get these 2 teams to make the 10min bus ride and settle it on the mat.

We can debate that dual until we’re blue in the face, but its never going to happen. For some reason the best teams in Georgia don’t like to dual each other unless it can happen in an away event. Schools like Buford, Peachtree ridge, and others have done a great job hosting some of the best events in the South, but for some reason the top schools always manage to dodge “miss” each other at these events. When my kid starts to wrestle I hope the coach will want to wrestle the best schools around and dual anyone anywhere, but it seems some coaches egos are a little to big for that.
