InactiveIf we had just one classification, who would win the team race? Would Camden remain at the top? Would Buford, Archer, Jefferson, Woodland or Union Grove have enough to dethrone them?
Based on my rankings: (Just using the top 5)
1. Buford 63 points
2. Woodland 48 points
3. Union Grove 44 points
3. Archer 44 points
5. Camden 43 points
6. Jefferson 42 pointsJanuary 30, 2018 at 7:55 pm #9729Anonymous
InactiveI think this year Buford wins- Followed by Camden and then Jefferson. They look deeper across the weights. Woodland, UG, Archer are not deep enough- not even top 5. UG and Archer get worse next year as their top kids graduate. Woodland has some good kids coming in and Smith returns but, still will be weak in upper weights.
Here’s where we all get told how great 1A is-

InactiveIt depends on what the qualification criteria are.
Are we just taking state Champs?…All six placers in each Classification?…using some type of rankings system (such as Snapon’s)?…is there some new Sectional style format?Buford, Commerce and Jefferson probably do well if we just take state champs. Camden does really well if we take all state placers or if there was a pre-state sectional format combining teams across all classifications.

InactiveI think an all-class state champ dual would be pretty awesome. Comprised of only the state champions from each weight class for each division. Round robin format so you wrestle everyone. Royal rumble!

InactiveIf we wrestled class state champs vs class state champs this is how I see it placement:
1) 5A- deepest classification in the state. They have the best wrestler in the state at the following weights:113, 120, 152, 220. They have the second best in the state at 113, 132.
They would put together a hell of a dual team.7A would be strong- Best in the state at 106 and 138 (both could lose their Head to Head vs 5A though)
They would put together an impressive dual team as well.6A- Best in the state at 145, 160 and 182. Not quite the depth of 7A and 5A but would put together a very solid line-up
4A- Best in the state at 126 and 132. Both Manella and Masters would be favored to beat anyone except their 5A opponents.
3A- Best at 170 and HWT. Would be competitive, just don’t think they would have the horsepower to give them a chance to win it all
2A- Moving on….
1A- Would be a blood bath if they wrestled 5A and 7A. Would be an ass whipping if they wrestled 4A, 6A

Inactive1A wouldn’t be a blood bath or a** whipping. There would be a few pins for sure, but I know some Darlington, Commerce, and a few other 1A kids that would bring it and make it a fun event.
