InactiveFor the past few years I have thought about making a tournament rating/feedback system. This would be for 2 reasons.
1. As a tournament director I would want feedback to make my event better. I feel if you spend your time and money at my tournament I want it to be a positive experience and one you choose to come back to.
2. As a coach scheduling. I don’t like to always go to the same event every year; even if it is well ran. So when I change it up I can’t stand going to a place I pay top dollar for and sit there and watch the event come to a stop or near stop. Can’t stand watching unused mats for no reason (not the 45 min rule). I don’t like it to be so unorganized the kids have a hard time knowing when they are up to wrestle, etc…So what things should be taken into consideration? Hopefully things that can be judged on a Likert-type scale.
1. Efficiency:
2. Good Schedule and stay on schedule. Not too early, not too late.
3. Level of competition. Not that a low mid level is a bad thing. If your team is young/inexperienced you may not want to hit a tough event every weekend and just ruin your kids morale.
4. Hospitality
5. Organization. Easy to know when you are wrestling? Good table workers? Keeping the floor area clear, etc…
6. Cost for event? or Bang for buck? I don’t mind paying more for good events.
7. Venue
Anything to take of or add to the list? I think it would be nice to move to something like this. It would be best in the long run if the event host copied the form for their event then sent it out. But if that is the case it the results could get skewed.
