GHSA has failed GA Wrestling and it starts with Don Corr. GHSA is holding the longest wrestling tournament in wrestling history. This just doesn’t pass the common sense rule with four days of keeping their weight down, with one match a day, all while missing three days of classes. Simply put Don Corr and GHSA aren’t looking out for the best interest of the kids. Put the kids aside for a second bc Don Corr’s GHSA has also failed the Wrestling boosters, the school system as a whole, and all the parents that make it possible. The strain it will put on smaller wrestling booster programs isn’t even fair and the extra day of hotels that the school system shells out is a scam. The financial stress it puts on parents between hotels and or having decide to miss a State level match to put food on the table on a Wednesday is bolder dash. Really, everything about this debacle smells of a politician that is getting kick backs from Macon’s biggest revenue generating weekend of the year, the GA State Tournament.
